Had some pretty good tacos here. The Beef Birria are decent beef tacos, but the the famous Al Pastor tacos using chicken is just weird. I liked the idea of the keto tacos where they used cheese as the taco base. Flavours were decent with the consomme beef flavour with the falling apart beef. I just wish they would do Al Pastor the proper way.
Tacos with the drip is their claim, and they deliver bigtime. Tasty Beef Quesabirrias with a rich consomme for just a dollar extra, say no more. The Chicken Al Pastor loaded fries is meaty, cheesy comfort, and the fruity Aqua Fresca drinks, rimmed with Tajin seasoning are a salty, spicy delight. A choice of three delicious salsas to squirt liberally all over everything if thatโs your prerogative. Taco โbout delicious!
The food was really good and I think reasonably priced. They could probably benefit from adding some more chairs and tables though, I went on a Saturday night and it was packed with barely anywhere to sit.
Don Birria was amazing! I literally inhaled my food thatโs how quick it went. I went with my brother and we got the โMost Popular Duo โ Quesabirria + Consommรฉโ and a large mango drink with (what I believe was) a tajin and lime rim I canโt remember the exact name, but it was bussing! The food was unlike anything Iโve had before , absolutely spectacular. The lady who served us was lovely and super patient, even when I kept changing my order sizes. Our food came out quickly despite the place being packed, and itโs easy to see why itโs so popular. Only downside was the slightly wonky table we sat at, but honestly, thatโs such a tiny thing compared to how good everything else was. 10/10, would recommend without hesitation.
Well, well, well, what can I say about Don Birria in Mount Lawley? I went in with the no expectations, since we were basically invited there by friends, and usually, when that happens, I brace myself for disappointment. Instead, surprise plot twist! The menu is mostly gluten free, and my skeptical little heart jumped with joy. I went for the soft birria tacos and, oh dear lord, they were delicious, juicy, and they even gave me a cup of salsa to dunk those bad boys in, like some kind of taco fondue fiesta. Five stars for the food, no question about it. Now comes the slightly less spicy part: the vibe. The place feels more like a food truck parked in disguise and, honestly, with just a little effort, they could transform the outside into something cozy and inviting. Right now, itโs giving food truck meets fast food pit stop, but hey, at least the tacos are carrying the whole show. As for the price, about twenty bucks a head, maybe a bit more with a drink. Pretty fair for Perth, where even air sometimes feels like it costs extra. So, all in all, Iโm giving it a solid four stars. Could easily be five if they put some love into the atmosphere, because the tacos are already doing their job like true little heroes in tortillas.
