Went for lunch on Saturday. Small and buzzing. Delicious fish tacos, the tacos so light and the filling so fresh and flavourful but not overpowering at all. The guacamole with corn chips were the opposite of the same you'd buy in a supermarket. Again very fresh,light and tasty. Nothing stodgy or heavy about this place as some Mexican food can be. You're lucky if you live nearby. I don't unfortunately!

La Popular is the epitome of the Mexican saying “panza llena, corazón contento” — happy belly, happy heart. I’m Mexican, and this is the place I come to whenever I’m missing home. The food is truly incredible. Everything is made fresh and from scratch — even the tortillas. And trust me: you will never have a tastier, softer, more delicious tortilla on this side of the world. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but my holy trinity is carne asada, cochinita, and cachete de res. Amen. 🙏 If you’re into tequila — or its sexier cousin, mezcal — you’re in for a treat. The selection is fantastic, and the margaritas are exactly how God intended them to be 😆 And to top it all off, the service is outstanding. The friendliest, warmest bunch of humans, with that unbeatable vibe you only get from a small, family-owned restaurant. Very average overall. I was charged $5 for extra chicken, but the portion was tiny — about the size of a small bowl — as shown in photo, which felt pretty disappointing for the price. The rice looked and tasted like microwave rice, and the service was quite slow and server was just not bothered. The only reason I'm giving any stars is for the ambience, which was nice, but everything else fell very short.

Awesome food, awesome atmosphere, awesome service. Definitely get the feed me and be ready to eat a lot. Really accommodating for dietaries. The fresh tortillas were delicious, never had anything like it before.

very cozy place. just be aware of making booking before visiting as they have limited seats. we tried about 5 tacos, was mostly great. especially, braised beef and pork taco was fantastic. some food item took quite long time to get. overall was great with friendly customer service
